October.05.2015

Orrick congratulates our partner Peter Bicks on becoming a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America.

The induction ceremony at which Peter became a Fellow took place during the recent 2015 Fall Annual Meeting of the College in Chicago.

Founded in 1950, the College is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Membership in the College cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province.

Known for his versatility in the courtroom, Peter has prevailed in a wide range of mass tort actions, intellectual property cases and contract disputes. His victories have come before judges and juries in courtrooms around the country, including in Alabama, California, Delaware, New York, Texas, Utah and West Virginia, and before the International Trade Commission. In recent years, Peter has secured judgments and verdicts in high-stakes disputes for clients such as DISH Network, Dow AgroSciences, Union Carbide and Nintendo.  American Lawyer has named Peter a "Litigator of the Week" and Law360 has recognized him as a "Media & Entertainment MVP.” Based on interviews with in-house counsel, BTI Consulting Group recently named him to its list of "Client Service All-Stars."

Peter serves on Orrick's Management Committee and previously served as New York office leader. He is an alumnus of Georgetown University Law Center.
