For the second time, Orrick’s Düsseldorf office joined leading German business school WHU to co-host a Corporate Innovation and Corporate Venture Capital event.
The keynote featured Israeli Ambassador to Germany H.E. Yakov Hadas-Handelsman, who shared insights on what made the Israel startup sector so successful. Other speakers included the head of the Israeli Economic and Trade Mission and key corporate venture capital (CVC) representatives from Deutsche Telekom and Axel Springer, as well as the Coller Institute and the Technion.
Successful serial acquirers from Axel Springer, Earlybird Ventures, Statkraft Ventures and Henkel also shared their insights on how they overcame the challenges of acquiring and integrating startups and offered a closer look at best practices and setting up CVC units.
The event was co-moderated by Orrick partner Sven Greulich, an alumnus of the WHU, and attended by more than 120 guests.
Orrick is the top venture capital law firm in Europe and the 7th most active globally, according to PitchBook’s 1Q17 league tables.
