Story Features Orrick Associate’s “Unconventional Path” To Judgeship

Law.com featured Orrick senior associate Dave Keenan’s compelling life story in a profile that describes his journey from troubled youth and trips to juvenile hall to his recent election to a state judgeship in Seattle. Dave, an associate in the firm’s white collar and securities litigation practice since 2009, joins the Kings County bench on Jan. 9.

In the story, Dave describes how his background and later experience with Orrick provided important insights into the justice system. “I feel like I’m a more powerful advocate for marginalized communities because I’ve seen it from the inside,” he told Law.com. “I hope that’s going to make me a better judge.”
