Action Against Hunger International Expands in Italy and Germany

April.17.2014

When Action Against Hunger/ACF International, one of the key pro bono clients of our Paris and U.S. offices, wanted to expand to Italy and Germany, Orrick's local teams did not think twice about pitching in to help this global humanitarian organization establish new corporate entities in each country.

Recognized as a leader in the fight against malnutrition, Action Against Hunger/ACF International saves the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger. With 30 years of expertise in emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster and chronic food insecurity, the organization runs life-saving programs in over 40 countries benefiting 7 million people each year.

These new entities will assist Action Against Hunger/ACF International in gaining financial and other resources to further expand the reach of its global work.

Our team included Stefan Schultes-Schnitzlein and Albrecht von Breitenbuch in Germany, and Guido Testa, Alessandro De Nicola and Alessandro Mainardi in Italy. David Syed, the client relationship partner, took in the matter and identified the team working on the project to ensure a seamless process for Orrick and the client.

"Thank you for all of the invaluable advice you provided to ACF Dev in recent months to support us in the set up of our new entities in Germany and in Italy. We very much appreciate the time, attention and professionalism you have given us as we begin this journey with a new entity in Germany and in Italy."
