Orrick's Employment Team Achieves Unanimous Verdict for Dyson in Discrimination Case


After a two-week trial in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the jury returned a unanimous verdict for Orrick’s client Dyson, Inc. in a complex discrimination case.

After deliberating for just two and a half hours, the jury voted unanimously to dismiss claims of disability discrimination, failure to prevent discrimination, failure to make a reasonable accommodation, failure to engage in a good faith interactive process and wrongful termination in violation of public policy brought against Dyson by a former senior manager.

The trial was argued by partner Rob Shwarts and senior associate Sara Dionne. The Orrick team also included senior associate Brooke Arena and associates Leo Moniz, Rachel Muoio and Stephanie Albrecht.
