Thomas’s intellectual property litigation practice is an outgrowth of his deep interest in technology and love of client service. Thomas has assisted clients, large and small, plaintiff and defendant, in obtaining outcomes that serve their unique business goals. Thomas is well-versed in a variety of technologies including semiconductor devices, telecommunications, and other electrical and mechanical disciplines. Prior to entering private practice Thomas served as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for many years.
Thomas has litigated over 30 district court cases, numerous IPRs, and a number of cases before the United States International Trade Commission.
Ben works with litigation attorneys and third party vendors to manage the review and production of documents relevant to investigations and litigation. This work includes using early case assessment technology to analyze, categorize and cull data. He also manages teams of skilled professionals performing document review, redaction, analysis, production and drafting privilege logs.
Ben has coordinated matters involving large-scale international data collections, reviews, and productions to multiple parties and governmental institutions. Ben is Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA), and holds a J.D. from the University of Oregon and an LL.M. in International Trade and Commercial Law from Durham University in the U.K. (with distinction).
Mary is a member of the Orrick Analytics Group. She is an experienced corporate lawyer focused on transactional matters and strategic counsel to leading supply chain, distribution, and technology companies. She handles corporate issues typically overseen by in-house counsel, with an ardent awareness of in-house counsel’s need to receive exceptional work in an expeditious manner. She provides tactical guidance on managing the complete life cycle of corporate, supply chain, and technology agreements.
Devang represents public and private companies in connection with domestic and cross-border merger and acquisition transactions in the technology and AI sectors, and advises clients on reorganizations and corporate governance matters.
Prior to law school, Devang studied mechanical engineering at UC San Diego and is registered to practice under the USPTO.
Johann advises startups and tech companies as well as VC funds in on their fundraising, external growth operations, and exits. He has been involved in more than 40 transactions with companies such as Mistral AI, Alan, BeReal, amo, Dust or Nabla, or investors such as Cathay Innovation, Highland Europe, RA Capital Management and Sequoia Capital.
Throughout the growth lifecycle of startups, Johann assists management teams in setting up employee incentive plans and providing practical advice on corporate governance.
As a dual-qualified lawyer admitted to the Paris and New-York bars, Johann supports companies in their cross-border operations and their establishment in the United States.
Prior to joining Orrick, Johann was an associate in the Paris office of an American law firm.
Amisha partners with in-house counsel to devise and execute strategies that align with advancing their overall business goals. She advises clients across industries such as technology, finance, consumer products, and pharmaceuticals. Her practice includes all aspects of class action and civil litigation in state and federal courts and private arbitration and mediation.
Amisha regularly defends against cybersecurity, privacy, and consumer protection class action litigation claims and mass arbitrations, advises clients on the use of online technologies and tools like cookies and pixels, and is well-versed in issues relating to consumer consent. She has also represented companies and individuals before federal regulatory and enforcement agencies, including the DOJ and SEC.
Amisha maintains an active pro bono practice focused on immigration and civil rights issues.
She previously taught at The George Washington University Law School as an adjunct professor in the Scholarly Writing Program.
