Orrick Partners with Creating Opportunities for Veterans to Assist U.S. Military Veterans in Career Development

May.03.2017

Orrick is pleased to announce a new pro bono partnership between our 3D Printing Group and Creating Opportunities for Veterans (COFV), a training and job placement initiative of 3D Veterans, Inc. which is dedicated to helping U.S. Military Veterans and Transitioning Service Members (TSM) develop the necessary skills and experience to launch new careers in emerging technologies, starting with additive manufacturing. As part of this relationship, Orrick will provide legal services to COFV to help expand its reach and to support as many Veterans/TSMs as possible. The partnership will officially begin at the RAPID + TCT Additive Manufacturing Conference on May 8-11 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where partners Vann Pearce and Chris Higgins, co-leaders of Orrick’s 3D Printing Group, will speak on intellectual property issues in 3D printing and will join Michael Moncada, board member of COFV and Co-Founder of 3D Veterans, Inc., at its booth in the 3D Playground/Exhibition Hall.

The partnership is the latest example of our internationally acclaimed pro bono efforts. In 2016 we were named by the American Lawyer as a top ten pro bono firm in the U.S. and internationally. The announcement also demonstrates Orrick’s steadfast commitment to veterans, which includes our Third Annual Veteran’s Legal Career Fair (VLCF) set to begin on May 5 in Washington, D.C. The VLCF is the only legal career fair devoted exclusively to veterans and military spouses.
