Orrick Named a Startup Law Firm of the Year Finalist

October.28.2019

The Recorder has named Orrick one of two Startup Law Firm of the Year finalists as part of its California Leaders in Tech Law and Innovation Awards. We’re recognized for our work on behalf of emerging companies this year, including cross-border M&A and innovative state legislative work for Getaround, fundraising rounds for Stripe, and helping Beyond Meat launch its highly successful IPO.

In this Q&A, the team discusses their approach to client service, noting “our goal is to bring each client’s vision to life by helping them make valuable connections that we’ve established through our work advising 2,700+ emerging companies, investors, incubators, advisers and public companies in the world’s most active tech markets.”

In describing what sets Orrick apart, the team highlighted their collaborative spirit. “We’re team players who are curious about our clients’ business, technologies and the industries that they are transforming—we look beyond our clients’ immediate legal needs and offer them a wide range of experience and knowledge across industries, sectors and stages to ensure that they are set up to succeed. We’re collaborators drawing on a global platform of experts in the areas that matter most to startups as they scale, from securities, M&A, comp and benefits and employment to IP, cyber and privacy, antitrust, public policy and litigation.”

In addition to this recognition, Orrick is also a finalist for Tech Litigation Department of the Year, partner John Bautista is an Innovator of the Year finalist, and partner Lynne Hermle is one of the Recorder’s Women Leaders in Tech Law.
