Orrick Paris Hosts Africa CEO Forum for Roundtable on Nigeria

On September 17, our Paris office hosted the Africa CEO Forum for a roundtable discussion on “Nigeria, an Eldorado to be conquered at all costs” followed by a cocktail reception.

The panel included Ronald Chagoury Jr., Vice Chairman of Eko Atlantic; Charles Kié, Co-Founder & CEO of New African Capital Partners; Nicolas Martin, EVP Marketplace & Logistics at Jumia; Yves Barraquant, CEO of CMR Group; and Dr. Modupe. E. Irele, Ambassador of République fédérale du Nigéria in France.

Orrick Paris office leader Frederic Lalance welcomed the participants and gave introductory remarks for attendees that included representatives from African Development Bank, Agence Française de développement, Airbus, Bureau Veritas, Eranove, Vivendi, KPMG, PROPARCO, Safran, Saint-Gobain, Total, Veolia and Vinci.

Frédéric assists his clients in litigation arising from commercial, industrial and financial disputes, corporate law and insolvency proceedings, both before the French courts and in multi-jurisdictional cases – notably in Africa before the OHADA jurisdictions.

He also assists his clients before arbitral institutions and in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Frédéric also advises French and foreign groups in investigations by administrative or judicial authorities involving bribery and corruption issues.

In this respect, he has broad expertise in internal investigations (national and international), the implementation of compliance programs and the prevention of cyber-crime risks.
