Peter Connors Elected President of American College of Tax Counsel

Congratulations to Orrick partner Peter Connors on being elected President of the American College of Tax Counsel. His term begins on March 1.

The American College of Tax Counsel is a professional association of tax lawyers recognized for their excellence in tax practice and for their substantial contributions and commitment to the practice of tax law. Recent officers of the College include IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig and IRS Chief Counsel Michael Desmond.

A Fellow of the College for more than a decade, Peter has served as Vice President since October 2018 and previously served as Secretary-Treasurer as well as the Regent from the Second Circuit.

With a focus on cross-border transactions, Peter has extensive experience in tax law relating to asset securitization, financial transactions, corporate reorganizations and private equity investments, as well as tax controversy, including representation of taxpayers before the U.S. Tax Court.

In addition to his work with the College, Peter has been a member of its Executive Committee of the International Fiscal Association since 2008, where he serves as Vice President of its New York Region. He is also entering his 15th year as a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section, where he serves as Co-Chair of the Inbound Tax Committee.
