Sue’s practice focuses on environmental law as it applies to the financing, construction and operation of power generation, infrastructure projects, and the purchase and sale of commercial enterprises. Sue is also experienced with the environmental facets of ESG, including ESG reporting and disclosure.

Sue’s practice focuses on environmental law as it applies to the financing, construction and operation of all types of power generation, including several offshore wind projects, infrastructure projects, and the purchase and sale of commercial enterprises. Sue is also experienced with the environmental facets of ESG, including ESG reporting and disclosure.

Sue advises clients with respect to environmental and permitting matters in the context of domestic and international transactions. She is skilled in identifying environmental risk and negotiating the allocation of such risk in a variety of transactional contexts, including financing agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and leases (including with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management).

    • Represented a renewable energy company in its $510 million acquisition of Deepwater Wind Holdings.
    • Represented a renewable energy company in connection with the $580 million acquisition of Lincoln Clean Energy.
    • Represented the lenders in the senior secured bank financing of the $1.3 billion South Field Energy Center, a 1,182 MW natural gas-fired generation project in Ohio.
    • Represented the lenders in the $1 billion senior secured bank financing of the Cricket Valley Energy Center, a 1,100 MW natural gas-fired generation project in New York.
    • Represented the lenders in the approximately $2.3 billion financing for the 1,394 MW Southland repowering project in Southern California.  
    • Represented the lenders in the financing of the 674 MW combined-cycle Salem Harbor Power Station in Salem, Massachusetts.
    • Represented the lenders in the $4 billion financing for Train 2 of the Freeport LNG liquefaction project.
    • Represented the lenders in the senior secured bank financing of the $542 million Woodbridge Energy Center, a 700 MW natural gas-fired generation project in New Jersey.
    • Represented the initial purchaser and lenders in the $935 million senior secured project bond and bank financing for the Genesis Solar Project, a 250 MW solar thermal energy project in California.
    • Represented the lenders in connection with the $1.5 billion greenfield project financing of the $3 billion, 675-mile Ruby natural gas pipeline.
    • Represented the sponsor and its subsidiary in connection with the negotiation of environmental and social covenants with the syndicate of lenders financing their gold mining project in Ecuador.
