Adil's practice is focused on project development, project financing, corporate power purchase agreements, and public law.

Adil focuses on the development, construction and acquisition of projects in the energy and infrastructure sector. He has extensive experience of advising on complex infrastructure projects and corporate power purchase agreements, including notably the structuring / bankability analysis of project agreements and regulatory / public law aspects.

Adil advises clients on public law and highly specific regulatory issues, as well as on transactional matters (analysis and drafting of concession agreements, EPC, O&M, PPAs, etc).

Prior to joining Orrick, Adil worked for two leading law firms in Paris.

Adil is also Teacher/Lecturer in Law at the Ecole Normale Supérieure preparatory class of Lycée Turgot and at the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas.

    • Morrison on the structuring, negotiation and signing (with EDF group) of a long-term partnership for the establishment of a joint-financing platform to invest up to EUR 450 million in ultra-fast charging points for electric vehicles in France
    • Renault Group on the structuring, negotiation and signing (with Voltalia) of the largest corporate PPA ever signed in France (350 MWp)
    • Dombasle Energie on a greenfield heat (181 MW) and electricity (17,5 MW) facility project on one of Solvay’s industrial site in France, including the review and negotiation of the suite of project documents (offtake, EPC, O&M, Fuel supply and ancillary agreements) as well as permitting and other regulatory aspects including green energy certificates (deal value: EUR 225 million)
    • ArcelorMittal in respect of a PPA (including for the sale of power generated from the gas turbine unit) relating to a gas processing facility producing multiple utilities, including captive heat, wind and electricity, on an industrial site in France
    • West African Power Pool on the development of a tender documentation including a concession/PPP agreement and a power purchase agreement for the development of 150MW hybrid solar power plant with storage both in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger
    • IFC on the financing of the expansion project of the International Airport of Sihanoukville in Cambodia (deal value: USD 270 million)
    • Aquind Limited on the development of the 2000MW UK - France Interconnector, including French public law issues, review and analysis of the agreements for seabed occupancy, review and analysis of the French regulatory framework in relation to the underground works in coastal areas by private energy actors, etc.
    • OneWeb, in relation to its combination with Eutelsat Communications, a listed French satellite and telecommunications company (deal value: USD 3.4 billion)
    • Cellnex on the acquisition of SFR's antennas and on the various follow-up transactions including acquisitions, lease backs to Bouygues Telecom, Illiad and SFR and roll-outs of telecom towers and fibrenetworks. This includes public law related advice such as telecom regulatory issues, review of licences and public leases, foreign investment advice, etc. (deal value: EUR 5.2 billion)
    • A major oil & gas company regarding the assistance in pre-litigation and litigation actions before the French Conseil d’Etat and the European Court of Justice regarding the French biofuels legal framework
    • Eni on a litigation before both the French Conseil d'Etat and the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding French new regulatory obligations in relation to gas storage
