THE COMPANY

Based in Foster City, California, Scale Venture Partners “invests in early-stage technology companies that are ready to transition from founder-led growth to go-to-market machine.”

Datagen is powering the AI revolution by providing high-performance synthetic data, with a focus on data for human-centric computer vision applications. The company is based in Tel Aviv, Israel.

THE IMPACT

In an announcement, Datagen’s co-founder and CEO, Ofir Zuk, said the $50 million “enables us to substantially accelerate our growth.”

“We’re lucky to have investors on board who understand the future of AI and are thankful to have them on this journey with us,” he said.

Andy Vitus, a Scale partner, said in announcing the investment that Datagen “generates photorealistic labeled datasets based on specific criteria and distributions, allowing its enterprise customers to train and test their machine learning models more efficiently.

“Synthetic data has emerged in response to the shortcomings of real-world datasets. We believe training computer vision models with synthetic data is going to become the industry standard because of its clear advantages over manual collection.”
