November.04.2021

  • Darrell Cafasso will join the firm’s financial services litigation practice as a partner based in New York on January 1, 2022
  • He joins from Goldman Sachs, where he served as the company’s Global Head of Litigation and Regulatory Proceedings

Darrell brings extensive experience in the financial services industry, both as a first-chair litigator for major financial institutions and as a leading adviser in complex regulatory enforcement and investigative proceedings.

Before joining Goldman as head of litigation in 2018, Darrell was a partner for six years at Sullivan & Cromwell, where he represented financial institutions and other Fortune 500 companies -- including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and Fiat Chrysler – in significant civil and criminal matters

“Darrell is a respected authority in the financial services community,” said Chairman & CEO Mitch Zuklie. “He will add top quality talent to our New York litigation roster – a top priority for our firm.”

“I’m thrilled to bring an advisor of Darrell’s caliber and experience to our New York team,” said Orrick’s Head of Financial Services Litigation practice Rich Jacobsen, who has worked closely with Darrell for years. “His ability to guide banking and finance companies through high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters is unsurpassed.”

“I have the deepest respect for my colleagues at Goldman Sachs and leave behind a first-rate team,” said Darrell.  “I’m at a point in my career where I’m excited about the challenge of building something – and Orrick’s litigation platform and roster offers an ideal platform from which to do so.”
