Orrick Is Advising Central Garden & Pet on $532 Acquisition of Green Garden

We are advising Central Garden & Pet (Nasdaq: Cent, Centa) on its agreement to acquire Green Garden Products for $532 million from private equity firm Freeman Spogli & Co and other shareholders. 

Central is a leading innovator, producer and distributor of branded and private label products for the lawn & garden and pet supplies markets in the United States. With its acquisition of Green Garden, a leading provider of vegetable, herb and flower seed packets, seed starters and plant nutrients in North America, Central will expand its portfolio and strengthen its relationship with major retailers. 

The transaction is expected to close in Central’s second quarter of fiscal 2021, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.
