Financial Times recognized Orrick at this year’s European Innovative Lawyers Awards for the firm’s role in creating career paths for women returning to practice and for programs focused on wellness and mental health.

The firm’s collaboration to create career paths for women returning to practice after taking time off to raise their family won the Diversity and Inclusion category. This initiative, known as Reignite Academy, is a joint effort with CMS, Macfarlanes, Reed Smith, Sidley and White & Case and co-founders Stephanie Dillon, Lisa Unwin and Melinda Wallman. Orrick Partner Nell Scott, who has led the firm’s efforts as a founding sponsor of Reignite Academy accepted the award along with Orrick’s first Reignite Fellow Elizabeth Monro-Davies.

Orrick’s London office was also commended for its efforts to reduce the profession-wide stigma around mental health issues through a 12-month program that has included psychologist-led educational seminars, team discussions and monthly support groups for new parents.
