Orrick Advises Let’s Do This on $5 Million Seed Round with Investment by NFX, Serena Williams and Usain Bolt

Orrick has advised Let’s Do This, the largest marketplace for endurance events in the world, on its $5 million seed financing round, which was led by NFX, with participation from Serena Williams (legendary tennis player), Usain Bolt (the fastest man in the world) and Paula Radcliffe (marathon world-record holder). Other investors in the round included Y Combinator, Paul Buchheit (early Google employee; creator of Gmail), Andy Phillips (founder of Booking.com), Shasta Ventures, Index Ventures and FJ Labs, among others. The platform lists 30,000 races of all distances and disciplines, offering key information about the races and exclusive booking perks for members, such as free cancellation protection. Let’s Do This, which specializes in helping individuals find the best running events, recently agreed to a partnership with Hearst to power all race listings across Runner’s World, Men’s Health and Women’s Health in the U.S. and the UK.

Orrick has advised Let’s Do This on various matters since its inception, including a flip transaction to convert the company into a U.S. parent entity with a UK subsidiary structure, corporate governance matters, negotiating commercial, partnership and employment agreements, and the issuance of equity to employees in both the U.S. and UK.
