On Wednesday, July 9, Orrick’s Energy Tax Team hosted a webinar discussing the impact of the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” (OBBB), recently signed into law by President Trump, and the subsequent executive order affecting clean energy tax credits for wind and solar projects. The team provided an overview of the key changes introduced by the OBBB, including the termination of clean electricity production and investment tax credits under sections 45Y and 48E of the Internal Revenue Code, as well as new guidance on the "beginning of construction" requirements.
They also discussed what these changes mean for current and future renewable energy projects, and how the new legislation compares to previous proposals. A recording of this webinar is provided below.
