Orrick’s Alex Stathopoulos will present on Wage and Hour issues at the California Lawyers Association (CLA) 2020 Employment Law 101 Conference in San Francisco, CA. Alex will discuss the sources of wage and hour laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Labor Code, and Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) Wage Orders. Topics to be reviewed include, rules regarding misclassification of employees, AB5, meal and rest periods, travel pay, final pay, failure to pay for off-the-clock work and pre and post shift activities, unlawful deductions, and common mistakes to avoid.

In her counseling practice, Alex provides bespoke counseling advice to management, designs workplace policies and procedures, and offers creative and practical solutions to address a wide range of employment issues including new and developing areas of the law.
