Emmanuel represents numerous French and international companies on all aspects of employment law including international and cross-border issues.
His practice focuses on reorganizations, collective redundancies. He notably advised key players of the Financial, Metal, Food and Beverages, Pharmaceutical, Technology, Leisure and Music Industries in implementing economic dismissals and voluntary departures. He also assists these clients with employee representation and collective bargaining and sensitive individual cases.
Emmanuel has a strong proficiency in collective litigation as well as criminal litigation and currently handles a number of sensitive cases arising from works council and health and safety committee information consultation procedure, professional elections, collective bargaining agreements and employees performance appraisal system.
With a long-standing experience on landmark M&A, he regularly supports HR Directors in dealing with works council information and consultation procedures and transfer of employees triggered by such complex projects, helping them achieving their strategic objectives.
Co-author of an insightful and pedagogic book on all labor and employment facets of companies’ reorganization, Emmanuel is described by his clients as “a guru in the field of employment law” and praised for his “business sense”.
Before joining Orrick in 2016, Emmanuel was a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris, where he was in charge of the Employment, Pension and Benefits Department. Prior to that he was partner at the boutique employment law firm Bélier et Associés where he started his career.

He also has experience with corporate finance matters, debt restructurings and venture debt financings for high-growth companies.

He advises debt funds, hedge funds and other stakeholders (creditors, investors, buyers or debtors) in the context of financial or operational restructurings, whether amicable or judicial. He also advise entrepreneurs, managers, companies and investors on corporate matters independent of their restructuring activity.
Ranked "Next Generation Partner" in Restructuring by Legal 500 EMEA, Aurélien has recently acted for creditors and financial investors in high-stakes transactions involving listed companies such as Orpea, Pierre & Vacances - Center Parcs or Figeac Aero, as well as in various amicable and judicial midcap cases.
Prior to joining Orrick, Aurélien was a partner at an international UK law firm having previously worked in several international law firms based in Paris and New York.

François also advises companies, entrepreneurs and investment funds on their corporate and transactional matters.
He has recently acted for investors and creditors in the restructuring of listed and mid/upper mid companies. He has also advised financially distressed industrial actors, as well as investors seeking to acquire stressed and distressed assets and business activities.
François is a member of the Paris Bar, holds a Master 2 - DJCE from the University Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and is a graduate of HEC Paris. He is a regular lecturer in the Master's degree in Restructuring and Treatment of Distressed Companies (ALED accred.) at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3.
Prior to joining Orrick, François was a lawyer at major international law firms.
