John Harrison is a Partner in the Technology Companies Group and the co-leader of Orrick’s Artificial Intelligence Initiative. John advises high growth technology companies and venture capital firms in VC financings, M&A, corporate governance, IPOs and corporate and securities law matters.

Prior to joining Orrick in 2017, John was a senior associate in the corporate law practice of Latham & Watkins in Silicon Valley.

    • Represented Stripe in its Series D through Series I financings, raising over $8.5 billion, as well as numerous venture/strategic investments by Stripe in startups (Monzo, Step Mobile, Check, Rapyd, Fast, Pico, Pilot, Cuenca, PayMongo, Assembled, Accord, Ramp and TrueLayer), tender offers (liquidity programs), secondaries, acquisitions, corporate governance and strategic matters.
    • Represented Mercor in all fundraising rounds (raising over $480 million total), including its $350 million Series C financing from Felicis, General Catalyst and Benchmark at a $10 billion valuation.
    • Represented Polymarket in fundraising from Intercontinental Exchange at $9 billion valuation.
    • Represented Etched in all fundraising rounds, including its Series A financing led by Positive Sum and Primary Venture Partners.
    • Represented Flapping Airplanes in its $180 million financing at a $1.5 billion valuation from GV, Sequoia, Index Ventures and Menlo Ventures.
    • Represented PostHog in all fundraising rounds (over $190 million raised), including $75 million Series E at a $1,4 billion valuation led by Peak XV Partners.
    • Represented Magic in its $320 million funding round with contributions from Eric Schmidt, CapitalG, Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross, Atlassian, Elad Gil, Jane Street, Sequoia and others.
    • Represented Solugen in its $200 million Series D financing at a more than $2 billion valuation led by Kinnevik, Lowercarbon and Refactor, its $357 million Series C financing led by Baillie Gifford and GIC, its $30 million Series B-1 financing, its $32 million Series B financing led by Founders Fund and debt financings.
    • Represented Weights & Biases in its $50 million equity financing led by Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross.
    • Represented Diamond Foundry in its $200 million Series C financing at a $1.8 billion valuation led by Fidelity.
    • Represented Moniepoint in its $200 million Series C financing at a valuation above $1 billion, and $50+ million equity financing round led by QED Investors.
    • Represented Atlan in its $105 million Series C funding round led by GIC at a $750 million valuation, its $50 million Series B financing led by Salesforce Ventures, Sequoia and Insight and its $18 million Series A financing.
    • Represented Interaction Company of California, backed by Spark Capital and General Catalyst, in all fundraising rounds, including $10 million raise at $300 million valuation.
    • Represented Enam Co in all fundraising rounds, including Elad Gil led round at over $300 million valuation.
    • Represented MarqVision in its $48 million Series B financing led by Peak XV Partners, $20 million Series A financing co-led by DST and Atinum Investments, with participation from Softbank and Y Combinator.
    • Represented SF Compute in all fundraising rounds, including its $40 million Series A financing at a $300 million valuation, led by DCVC and Wing Venture Capital, with participation by Electric Capital and Jack Altman's Alt Capital.
    • Represented Coatue as lead investor in DoorDash’s $250 million Series D financing at a $4 billion valuation, in Cobalt Robotics’ $35 million Series B financing and Cargo’s $22 million Series A financing.
    • Represented Coda in its $100 million Series D financing at a $1.4 billion valuation led by OTPPB, its $80 million Series C financing led by Kleiner Perkins, its Series B financing, a convertible note bridge round and investment and strategic partnership with Snowflake.
    • Represented Gigs in all fundraising rounds, including its $73 million Series B financing led by Ribbit Capital, with participation from Google's Gradient Ventures, Y Combinator, and Speedinvest.
