Nick Sabatino is a Senior Associate in Orrick's Restructuring Group, focusing on bankruptcy matters and distressed transactions.
Nick represents financial institutions, funds, direct lenders, strategic investors and other institutional creditors in complex restructuring scenarios, including bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court workouts, and distressed asset acquisitions. He has significant experience with debtor-in-possession financing, pre-packaged and pre-arranged chapter 11 proceedings, Section 363 sales, and contested bankruptcy litigation.
Nick also has particular experience advising clients in distressed transactions across multiple industries, including energy and infrastructure, life sciences, cryptocurrency, and retail. He works with clients to structure and execute credit-bid acquisitions, private sales, and strategic investments in distressed companies, often collaborating with Orrick’s M&A, Banking & Finance, and Energy & Infrastructure teams to deliver practical, cross-disciplinary solutions.

Prior to joining Orrick, Nick served as a U.S. Army infantry officer for over seven years, where he led organizations of more than 200 soldiers in training and combat environments. A graduate of the elite U.S. Army Ranger School, he earned a Bronze Star Medal and two Meritorious Service Medals for exemplary performance. This background has instilled Nick with a distinctive approach to client service, combining strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail and an emphasis on teamwork and collaborative problem-solving.
