Orrick advised Banque des Territoires on the creation of Francilienne de Géothermie, a joint venture between Banque des Territoires and 2gré (a subsidiary of the Arverne Group), with respective shareholdings of 28% and 72%.
Francilienne de Géothermie will develop, finance and operate several deep geothermal heat production and supply projects in the Île-de-France region.
Orrick advised on the drafting and negotiation of all transaction documentation.
These projects will supply renewable and locally sourced energy to district heating networks serving local authorities, as well as private sector players for their own needs. Each project will be carried out through a dedicated subsidiary of Francilienne de Géothermie, in which local authorities or industrial players will be able to acquire equity interests.
The projected equity to be invested in the first five projects amounts to €45.1 million.
This innovative partnership between Banque des Territoires and Arverne, a leading French provider of geothermal solutions, supports the Île-de-France region’s energy transition by contributing to the decarbonization of its district heating networks.
The Orrick team is led by Geoffroy Berthon and Olivier Jouffroy and includes Lorraine Dorval, Inès Madi and Élodie Maecha.
