The National Law Journal has named Orrick to its Pro Bono Hot List, recognizing firms that made exemplary contributions in providing access to justice over the past year.
NLJ highlighted the work of a global Orrick team that helped the International Bar Association's Human Trafficking Task Force in its efforts to prioritize markets for anti-trafficking training programs in 2015. Tasked with conducted a review of more than 90 countries to determine their compliance with the international anti-trafficking treaty, the Palermo Protocol, 33 lawyers across 12 markets analyzed and wrote briefing papers and ultimately recommended six countries to the IBA for training. They included: Mimiao Hu, Yali Hu, Carol Yan and Shelley Zhang in Beijing; Friederike Dratwa in Frankfurt; Martin Chiu, Erica Chong, Mandy Fung, Carmen Wong and Janet Wong in Hong Kong; Katie Cotton, Mandy Perry, Jack Mead, Louise Young and Katrina Murphy in London; Kris Trautmann, Elizabeth Elias, Caroline McInerney and Hannah Junkerman in New York; Glen Liu in Orange County; Gergana Rodriguez and Paul Bignebat in Paris; Lillian Mao in Silicon Valley; Dawn Pinault and Jennifer Branham in Wheeling, all supervised by Andy Dale (Hong Kong), Anthony Riley and Nell Scott (London), Kathy Crost (New York), Liz Howard and Tom Zellerbach (Silicon Valley) and Rene Kathawala who organized and managed the project.
