Orrick advised U.S.-based Aptean, a global provider of mission-critical enterprise software solutions, on its agreement to acquire Ramsauer & Stürmer, a leading provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software in Austria.

With this transaction, Aptean expands its geographic reach in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), where the demand for digital business solutions has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aptean is one of the world’s leading providers of industry-specific software and offers ERP, supply chain and compliance solutions that are used by more than 6,500 customers around the world. Based in Alpharetta, Georgia, the company has offices in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific.

Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Salzburg, Austria, Ramsauer & Stürmer produces market-leading ERP solutions for mid-sized Austrian companies. It offers a full spectrum of ERP functionality to more than 400 clients around the world.

Aptean was advised by an Orrick team led by Munich-based private equity partner Christoph Brenner, who previously advised Aptean on their acquisition of German ERP Leader Modula, among other transactions. Vienna-based Schindler Attorneys advised on various Austrian law aspects of the transaction.
