Recorder Recognizes Orrick as California Leader in Tech Law and Innovation, and Honors John Bautista and Lynne Hermle

September.12.2019

Orrick is named a Tech Litigation Department of the Year and an Emerging Company Law Firm of the Year finalist by The Recorder as part of its California Leaders in Tech Law and Innovation Awards. In addition, John Bautista is named an Innovator of the Year finalist for his work co-founding the Long-Term Stock Exchange, and Lynne Hermle is named to the Recorder’s Women Leaders in Tech Law list, for the third consecutive year, for her leading role in the Microsoft and Twitter gender discrimination cases.

In recognizing Orrick as a Tech Litigation Department of the Year finalist, the Recorder highlights the firm’s success in “fighting off class certification for Twitter and Microsoft in two of the most closely watched gender pay disparity cases in the tech industry, defending PayPal from a pair of shareholder class actions and winning affirmance of Patent Trial and Appeal Board victories for [a Global Semiconductor Manufacturing Company] at the Federal Circuit.”

The publication also touts the firm’s work on behalf of emerging companies this year, including its M&A and lobbying work for Getaround, $345 million in fundraising rounds for Stripe, and helping Beyond Meat launch its $240 million IPO.

Winners in the Tech Litigation Department of the Year and Innovator of the Year categories will be announced at a November 6th reception.
