Recent Bout of Market Recognition Underscores Orrick’s Depth in Latin America

Since official launch last year, Orrick’s Latin America practice has developed into a high-profile, multijurisdictional platform that has closed more than 20 deals with a deal value of more than $2.8 billion.

The team continues to build momentum and raise its profile in the market through innovative client work and across-the-board recognition in key legal directories for the region.

While Houston serves as the hub for our Latin America practice, our teams are well connected across New York, San Francisco, London, Paris and Düsseldorf. These latest awards are a testimony to our ability to collaborate across practices and offices:

  • LatinFinance: “Best Infrastructure Financing: Caribbean” for the $533 million debt refinancing of the Dominican Republic’s largest airport company Aerodom, following its acquisition by Vinci – led by Yves LePage, Bill Haft and Stephen Ashley. The transaction is said to be the largest ever refinancing transaction for a company based in the Dominican Republic.
  • Legal 500 Latin America 2018: Corporate and M&A and Energy – recognized among the top firms in both categories. Blake Winburne, George Humphrey, Bill Parish, Rodrigo Dominguez and Carlos Treistman are all recommended.
  • Chambers USA 2017: Texas: Latin America Investment – firm ranking featuring enthusiastic client feedback (“The services we received were perfect” and “They make you feel at home!”) and individual ranking for Carlos Treistman.

We were also recently recognized for the first time in Latin Lawyer’s directory of the top firms in Latin America. The Latin Lawyer 250, a widely read and circulated directory for the Latin American and U.S. business community, provides commentary on the law practices of the top 250 local and international law firms active in the region. Bill Parish, George Humphrey, Rodrigo Dominguez, and Carlos Treistman were recognized as Key Partners in the directory. This follows the team’s 2017 Latinvex rankings, announced earlier this year.
