Financial Times Names Orrick Among Top Ten “Most Innovative US Law Firms"

December.02.2013

The Financial Times has named Orrick one of the ten most innovative U.S. law firms based on our client work in 2013.  This is the fourth time Orrick has made the FT’s list.  The top ten firms include Cleary Gottlieb, Cravath, Latham & Watkins, Morrison & Foerster, Orrick, Paul Hastings, Simpson Thacher, Skadden, Weil Gotshal and White & Case.

The FT highlighted several Orrick matters as examples of innovation on behalf of clients. The firm's public finance team was recognized for their work on the first-ever public-private partnership involving municipal utility assets in Rialto, California. Three intellectual property matters were commended, including a patent troll victory for EMC Corp., a landmark Supreme Court copyright victory in Kirtsaeng v. John Wiley & Sons and the successful pursuit of cybercriminals globally for Microsoft. The firm also was acknowledged for partnering with Fullbridge on a unique mini-MBA style training program to help Orrick lawyers provide legal advice that advances our clients’ business objectives.
