Craig Johnston is an English-qualified Real Estate senior associate, with particular focus on renewable energy transactions.

Craig counsels developers and investors on the real estate aspects of the acquisition, development, refinancing and sale of energy projects in England and Wales, including solar, wind, battery storage, gas and biomass projects. Craig has worked on more than 100 solar energy projects, ranging from 5MW to 30MW.

Craig also counsels clients on commercial property leases and on the real estate elements of corporate transactions.

    • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners on the sale of 100% of its 49% interest in a joint venture with Falck Renewables S.p.A. comprising an operational onshore wind portfolio in Scotland and Wales to Infrastructure Investment Fund, an infrastructure fund advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
    • Marlin Equity Partners on closing its acquisition of a minority interest in SmartCredit Limited (t/a "SmartSearch").
    • Athos Solar in connection with the sale of a 44MW solar PV portfolio in the UK.
    • BlackRock in relation to the acquisition of a portfolio of 24 solar PV projects in the UK with a combined installed capacity of 156MW.
    • Canadian Solar in the financing of a large portfolio of PV plants in the UK, performing due diligence and dealing with post construction financing.
    • Equinox Energy on the acquisition, development and financing of its entire portfolio of UK solar assets, comprising projects with a total installed capacity of 85 MW.
    • European Energy in connection with the acquisition and onward sale of its 28MW portfolio of UK solar PV projects.
    • A fund on the property aspects of asset transfers of 25 solar projects within a group of companies.
    • Bluefield Solar on its acquisition of numerous solar projects in England.
    • A private energy developer on its acquisition of a number of battery storage and gas peaking development projects, including a complex portfolio acquisition.
