Français: Orrick conseille Morrison dans le cadre de la création d’une joint-venture de data centers avec Orange
Infrastructure investor Morrison has entered into an agreement with Orange to create a jointly controlled data center company in France, supported by a €3 billion investment program.
Orrick acted as co-counsel alongside Clifford Chance to advise Morrison on the contractual structuring of the transaction, including the negotiation and drafting of the Master Services Agreements and Transitional Services Agreements. Corporate aspects were handled by Patrick Tardivy (Partner) at Clifford Chance.
Orange is one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, with 340 million customers across 26 countries. Morrison is a leading global infrastructure manager, investing across the risk spectrum in both private and listed markets.
The 50/50 joint venture would support the development and enhancement of Orange’s existing French data center portfolio, targeting a capacity of 400 MW – nearly ten times its current capacity.
Global demand for hosting capacity is growing at an unprecedented pace, driven by the rise of AI, cloud computing and large-scale data processing. By developing this new platform, Orange and Morrison would contribute to positioning France as a leading location for digital infrastructure, offering solutions tailored to AI and cloud leaders, operated within France. The platform would benefit from some of the most decarbonized electricity in Europe and would aim for the highest standards of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The Orrick team is led by Christophe Lefort with support from Adil Kourtih.
