Derek is a member of the firm’s Cyber, Privacy & Data Innovation group where he represents corporate and individual clients in a variety of litigation matters, including matters focusing on cyber, privacy, and online safety issues.
He has more than a decade of experience litigating a broad array of complex litigation matters in both state and federal courts. His experience includes commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, mass tort litigation, defamation, and whistleblower matters. He also has experience with class actions, coordinated actions, e-discovery, and jury and non-jury trials.
Prior to joining Orrick, Derek was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Central District of California where he investigated and prosecuted federal criminal cases involving fraud, violent crime, and child exploitation.
