Clara Morain Nabity is a managing associate in the White Collar & Corporate Investigations practice group.

Clara represents individuals and companies in complex criminal and civil litigation, government investigations and enforcement actions, and internal corporate investigations.     

Before law school, Clara worked as an investigator on the United States Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, the bipartisan commission established by Congress to investigate and report on the causes of the 2008 financial crisis.

    • Represented executive charged with criminal violations of the Economic Espionage Act.
    • Represented executive of an international medical device manufacturer charged with criminal violations of the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act.
    • Represented executive charged with criminal violations of the Federal Meat Inspection Act.
    • Represented an agricultural company and its founder in connection with a government investigation into potential criminal violations of the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act.
    • Conducted internal investigation on behalf of a technology company into potential trade secret theft by employees.
    • Conducted multiple internal investigations on behalf of a public university into issues ranging from potential False Claims Act violations to potential violations of National Institutes of Health regulations.
    • Represents an oil and gas exploration and production company in connection with an SEC investigation into possible FCPA violations.
    • Conducted an internal investigation on behalf of a Bay Area hospital concerning potential False Claims Act violations and Medicaid fraud.
    • Represents the former general counsel of a financial institution in connection with a civil regulatory enforcement action.
    • Represented a financial services company in international arbitration in a partnership dispute involving allegations of fraud and breach of contract.
    • Represented founder of financial services company in arbitration proceedings arising from a partnership dispute.  
    • Represented a general counsel of a major hospitality and entertainment company in shareholder derivative litigation.
    • Represented the board of directors of a pharmaceutical company in shareholder derivative litigation.
