Ben Austin is an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate in Orrick's Orange County office. His practice focuses on patent litigation matters.
Ben works on matters involving patent litigation in several technical fields, including semiconductors, graphics processors, and business methods involving computer networks. In addition to his IP Practice, Ben has pro bono experience with matters concerning immigration.
Ben is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. While in law school, he was a member of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and Ecology Law Quarterly. He also participated in an externship with Chief Judge Frank D. Whitney in the Western District of North Carolina.
Ben graduated as a valedictorian from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering. While at N.C. State, he was engaged in the Park Scholarship Program all four years. He also participated in research and multiple technical internships related to nuclear energy.
