Yoseph Desta

Senior Associate

Washington, D.C.

Yoseph is a member of Orrick's Supreme Court and Appellate Practice. He litigates and advises on complex, novel, and high-stakes issues across subject areas, from administrative law to patent law.

Before joining Orrick, Yoseph was a trial attorney in the Federal Programs Branch of the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, a litigation counsel at Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, and an associate at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.  He draws on this breadth of experience—through which he had the opportunity to represent large companies, nonprofits, and government agencies in a range of complex matters in federal district and appellate courts—in his daily practice.

Yoseph began his legal career as a clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and Supreme Court of California.  He graduated from Harvard Law School, where he was a law review editor, and from Stanford University.
