Federico Urbani, a Senior Associate in the Milan office, is a member of the M&A and Private Equity Group.
As part of his professional practice, Federico deals mainly with acquisition transactions (share and asset deals), mergers and demergers, as well as in other corporate transactions (group reorganizations, spin-offs, club deals). In this field he assists Italian and foreign companies and groups, including public ones, in both domestic and multi-jurisdictional transactions. In recent years he has also been involved in the major extraordinary restructuring and revamping operations in the the national banking sector.
He advises private and public companies in company and corporate governance matters, also with regard to banking and financial regulatory issues.
Federico earned a PhD at Bocconi University, with a dissertation on corporate governance of supervised entities. Currently he is an adjunct professor (professore a contratto) of company law (advanced course) and business law at Bocconi University (where he is also a teaching assistant in company and business law, accounting legal principles, as well as financial institutions and markets law).
Federico has authored several publications in the fields of corporate law, financial regulation and contract law, which have been published in prominent Italian law journals. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Rivista delle società.
