Ilona advises on venture capital transactions, as well as founders in all phases of development.

When working with clients, she pays special attention to providing them with efficient and pragmatic advice that offers them appropriate support at all stages of growth.

Ilona has special experience in spin-offs from the university environment, restructurings and employee-ownership programs (ESOPs, VSOPs).

She supports venture capital transactions on the company side and international venture capital investors on their investments in German tech start-ups and scale-ups.

Before joining Orrick, Ilona worked as a research assistant and trained with two other international law firms in the areas of mergers & acquisitions and corporate litigation.

    • Leading mobile games platform Skillz on a $50m investment in and a strategic partnership with Hamburg-based Exit Games, global developer of Photon, the world’s most advanced synchronous multiplayer gaming technology;
    • U.S. investor Coatue on their co-lead investment in the nearly $1bn Series C financing round of Gorillas Technologies with DAX company Delivery Hero as the other co-lead investor;
    • Deep tech start-up ACCURE Battery Technologies on their $8m Series A funding round with Blue Bear Capital, CAPNAMIC and 42CAP;
    • U.S.-based global payroll scale-up Deel on the acquisition of German AI startup Zeitgold.
