Henry Wu advises clients on intellectual property protection, technology transactions, and data.

Henry represents clients on business transactions involving IP and data protection aspects, including licensing and technology transfers, mergers and acquisitions, venture and other strategic transactions that involve the commercialization of IP.

He also advises his clients on strategic IP protection and enforcement, in particular in the field of patent, trademark and copyright law.

Prior to joining Orrick, Henry was an attorney with a law firm focusing on trademark, competition and media law.

    • Advising Aptean, global provider of mission-critical enterprise software solutions, on IP aspects of acquiring ImPuls AG;
    • Advising a Chinese tech company on its defense strategy with regard to the opposition against two of its EU trademark applications;
    • Advising a Chinese tech company with regard to unfair competition matters;
    • Advising a Dutch private-equity firm on the IP aspects of acquiring a German software company;
    • Advising a Chinese video game company on trademark oppositions and disputes;
    • Advising a German industrial group on the IP aspects of the acquisition of a German mechanical engineering company;
    • Advising a Chinese consumer electronics company on data privacy matters;
    • Advising an U.S. software company on data privacy aspects of acquiring a German software company;
    • Advising a German tech company with regard to unfair competition claims brought by a competitor.
