Marcus is an associate in the structured finance group with a particular focus on European collateralised loan obligations (CLOs) across the broadly syndicated loan (BSL) and the emerging private credit/middle market.

Marcus advises leading arrangers and managers in connection with European CLOs for both private lending warehouse and public take-out stages. He also has experience in asset-backed leveraged (ABL) facilities, collateralised fund obligations (CFOs) and other private structured lending facilities.

Before joining Orrick, Marcus was a CLO Research Analyst at Dealscribe, where he helped build out the firm’s initial database for CLO investors.

  • Notable recent engagements:

    • Barings Euro Middle Market CLO 2024-2 – the third European Private Credit/MM CLO deal, with a novel dual currency structure, acting for BNPP as arranger.
    • Barings Euro Middle Market CLO 2024-1 – the first European Private Credit/MM CLO deal and winner of Global Capital’s European Securitisation Awards CLO Deal of the Year 2025, acting for BNP Paribas as arranger.*
    • Ares Direct Lending CLO 1 – the second European Private Credit/MM CLO deal, featuring a Luxembourg based Issuer and sterling only denominated tranches, acting for BNP Paribas as arranger.*
    • OCP Euro CLO 2024-11 – nominated for Global Capital’s European Securitisation Awards CLO Deal of the Year 2025, featuring large syndicated equity tranche and upsize, acting for J.P. Morgan as lead placement agent and BNP Paribas as co-placement agent.*
