Joseph David Trujillo

Managing Associate

San Francisco

Joey Trujillo is a managing associate in Orrick’s San Francisco office. He recently completed a two-year clerkship for the Honorable Phyllis J. Hamilton, the former-Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Joey represents and advises corporate and individual clients across a range of civil issues, including business disputes, shareholder litigation, and antitrust matters. He has a command of federal court jurisdiction, civil procedure, and practice, particularly in the Northern District of California. He also has substantial experience litigating in California state courts. Joey leverages his procedural understanding in these courts to gain early – and often decisive – litigation advantages.

Prior to his clerkship, Joey worked as an associate in Orrick’s San Francisco office. During that time, he was awarded an Outstanding Volunteer by the Justice & Diversity Center of the San Francisco Bar Association for his pro bono work in a housing dispute.

As a law student, Joey competed in moot court, served as the president of Stanford Law School’s Youth and Education Advocates, was a member of the Stanford Law Latino Student Association (SLLSA), and regularly volunteered with the Catholic chaplaincy at the Stanford Hospital.

Joey enjoys hiking, playing sports, and his home state of California.
