Matt’s practice focuses on project development in the renewable energy sector, guiding clients through the energy transition and assisting them in achieving their sustainability goals.  

Matt represents major corporate buyers and project developers in the drafting and negotiation of virtual and physical power purchase agreements (PPAs) in both US and foreign energy markets. His PPA experience encompasses a wide range of renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, and battery storage.

Matt also has experience working on agreements concerning the construction of renewable energy projects, including turbine supply and service agreements, EPC agreements, battery energy storage system (BESS) supply agreements, and subcontracts of various scopes.

Prior to joining Orrick, Matt worked as an associate in the energy teams of two global law firms. During law school, he was a summer associate at two global law firms in Latin America and served as the President of Georgetown Law’s Latin American Law Students Association.

Matt is a native Spanish speaker.
