Evangeline Schumacher is a respected finance lawyer, experienced in advising corporates, sponsors and financial institutions on a wide range of cross-border finance transactions, with a particular focus on infrastructure, private debt and acquisition finance.

She advises both international and domestic lenders (including banks and private debt funds) and borrowers on concession financings, financings for the development and modernization of major infrastructure projects, and acquisition and other event-driven financings in the energy and infrastructure space, as well as investment grade corporate financings.

Specialising in cross-border English law finance transactions, and with a particular focus on the Italian market, Evangeline is recognised for her ability to manage all aspects of a transaction with accuracy and efficiency, offering clients seamless and coordinated legal support across jurisdictions.

    • Assisting Santander as lender and arranger of a bridge facility and long-term financing (including VAT facilities) to support the takeover of the concession for the operation of the A21 and A5 toll roads in Northern Italy.
    • Assisting JP Morgan and Santander as lenders and arrangers of a bridge facility and €518m project bond made available and issued by the SPV Salerno Pompei Napoli S.p.A to finance the takeover of the concession for the operation of the A3 (Naples-Pompei-Salerno) toll road in Italy (project finance deal of the year – IFLR 2023).
    • Assisting the underwriters and mandated lead arrangers in connection with a €3.4bn financing supporting the successful US public takeover bid by Prysmian S.p.A. of Encore Wire Corporation.
    • Advising ICOP S.p.A. on a SACE backed financing to support the acquisition of US-based Atlantic Geoconstruction Holdings Inc.
