Benjamin Howe is a partner with Orrick's global Technology Companies Group.

Ben represents startup companies through all aspects of their life cycle as well as advises both financial and strategic venture capital investors.

He has worked with entrepreneurs to form hundreds of startup companies and has closed an even larger number of domestic and international venture capital financings, including early seed investments, initial and growth equity rounds, bridge financings, venture debt, large late-stage equity rounds and complex strategic investments.

Ben’s practice also includes representation of buyers and sellers in deals ranging from sales and acquisitions of early stage emerging companies to multibillion-dollar cross-border transactions.

Ben has held positions with a university venture fund, a large venture-backed startup and a national emerging company incubator. He also served as General Faculty at the University of Virginia.

In addition to his representation of startup companies and investors, Ben is also an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law, where he teaches a spring semester seminar on venture-backed startups.
