Selim Ayi is an associate in the Public Law team within Orrick's Energy & Infrastructure group in Paris. He advises private operators — sponsors and lenders — as well as public entities on the development of public infrastructure and energy projects, and on the regulatory aspects of their activities and transactions.
Selim focuses on public contracts, including concessions and public-private partnerships for major projects in the airport, port, highway, building and telecommunications sectors. In this capacity, he assists bidding consortia in the award of such contracts, from the bidding phase through subsequent stages including contract award and, where applicable, dispute management.
His experience includes advising the winning consortium for the concession to operate Beauvais-Tillé Airport, as well as a bidding consortium in the competitive tender process for the concession agreement for Nantes-Atlantique and Saint-Nazaire Montoir airports.
His practice also covers energy law — particularly renewable energy —, environmental law and regulatory matters in regulated industries. Selim regularly advises operators on complex issues regarding connection to electricity distribution and transmission grids, as well as on electricity or gas storage projects.
He also acts for operators, sponsors and lenders in project development and M&A or private equity transactions involving assets in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
Finally, he assists operators, sponsors and lenders in litigation matters in these sectors.
Prior to joining Orrick, Selim gained significant experience at an international law firm renowned for its public law and energy law practice, as well as with a major operator in the construction and concessions sector.
