Damien is advising on private equity, venture capital and M&A transactions as well as on general corporate law.

He has longstanding experience in advising investors, established corporates as well as start-ups and scale-ups on complex and often cross-border corporate transactions in the tech industry and beyond.

Prior to joining Orrick, Damien had been with an international law firm in Munich and Frankfurt for more than eight years.

    • Adevinta ASA on its US$9.2 billion acquisition of eBay Classifieds Group from eBay Inc.**;
    • Airbnb, Inc. on its acquisitions of Germany-based fewoVista S.L. & Co. KG and Vacaleo GmbH**;
    • Black Diamond Capital Management, L.L.C., along with InvestIndustrial, on their US$425 million acquisition of the phenolic specialty resin, hexamine and European forest products resins businesses of Hexion Inc.**;
    • Funds advised by Castik Capital on their acquisition of the ipan Group**;
    • Coty Inc. on its strategic partnership with KKR & Co. Inc., including the carveout sale of 60% of its professional beauty and retail hair businesses to KKR with an enterprise value of US$4.3 billion**;
    • Daimler AG in connection with various matters, including the carve-out and disposals of dealerships in a number of European countries; projects relating to an international cooperation with Renault-Nissan-Alliance; the sale of a German subsidiary to an Asian company**;
    • Dermalogica, Inc. on its acquisition by Unilever plc**;
    • Dürr AG, a major German mechanical and plant engineering firm, in connection with the formation of a joint venture with four large international tech companies as well as on the acquisition of a business unit from a US-based energy technology company**;
    • Equistone Partners Europe GmbH on its sale of Hornschuch Group to Benecke-Kaliko AG**;
    • Hillenbrand, Inc., a holding company for a funeral products manufacturer and an industrial equipment supplier, in its definitive agreement to acquire a German subsidiary of a US-based diversified technology company**;
    • Hamburg Commercial Bank (f/k/a HSH Nordbank) in connection with its privatization and related matters, including the sale of a loan portfolio**;
    • IAC/InterActiveCorp on its acquisition of a majority shareholding in MyHammer Holding AG from Holtzbrinck Digital GmbH and the subsequent voluntary takeover**.
