Standard Nuclear Raises $140M to Expand U.S. Advanced Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing

Standard Nuclear, a developer of advanced nuclear fuels, raised $140 million in a Series A round led by Decisive Point, with participation from Chevron Technology Ventures, StepStone Group, XTX Ventures, Welara, Fundomo, Andreessen Horowitz, Washington Harbour Partners and Crucible Capital, among new and existing investors.

THE COMPANY

Standard Nuclear is a U.S. company whose mission is to reliably deliver the essential building blocks of nuclear power at scale. The company is focused on the large-scale production of TRISO, an advanced nuclear fuel that is critical for the next generation of nuclear reactor designs.

THE IMPACT

The funding will allow the company to boost U.S. production of advanced of TRISO fuel, moving supply toward industrial scale. 

“Standard Nuclear was founded with a focused mandate to secure and scale a domestic advanced nuclear fuel supply chain that the U.S. can rely on. With this financing, we are rapidly advancing to build the infrastructure needed to scale American nuclear,” said Thomas Hendrix, general partner at Decisive Point and executive chairman of Standard Nuclear.
