  • Tax advisor Cécile Mariotti will join our Paris team as a partner.
  • Cécile advises on the tax aspects of French and international transactions, including M&A and private equity, venture capital, restructurings, private credit and other financings. She also advises on matters involving employee stock offerings and management packages.
  • She joins from Latham & Watkins and previously practiced with Cleary Gottlieb.
  • Cécile is Orrick’s seventh partner addition in Paris over the past two years, joining Aurélien Loric, leader of our Paris Restructuring practice and private credit advisors Manaf Triqui and Igor Kukhta. Her arrival brings Orrick’s Paris tax team to three partners.

Orrick’s French Restructuring, M&A and VC teams are capping a strong 2024. The firm continues its streak as the No. 1 VC firm in France since 2021. In the AI space, the team has advised Mistral AI since its inception, including on its €600 million Series B funding round and BeReal on its €500 million acquisition by Voodoo.

In the broader Tech space, our teams advised Sequans Communications on the sale of its 4G IoT business to Qualcomm and Crossbeam on its cross-border merger with Reveal.

In Energy and Infrastructure, we advised VINCI Airports in its acquisition of Budapest International Airport, global infrastructure investors such as CVC DIF in the disposal of its interest in France LNG Shipping, InfraRed Capital Partners in the acquisition of Proximus’ telecom towers in Luxembourg and Morrison in its partnership with EDF and Izivia to develop EV charging stations in France, as well as newly launched Alba Infra Partners on its spin-off from 3i group.

On the Restructuring front, the firm represented creditors in some of the largest restructurings, including Ycor on Solocal’s restructuring and Davidson Kempner on the restructuring of Casino Group.

“Our Paris strategy – focused on delivering top-quality commercial advice in key verticals – is clearly paying off. We are thrilled with the success of our recent hires and delighted to welcome Cecile, who has earned the respect of the market, to support our teams with strategic transactional tax advice,” said Patrick Tardivy, Co-Partner in Charge for Europe and co-leader of the firm’s global M&A and private equity practice.

“I’m very excited to join this dynamic and forward-thinking team and contribute to what they are building – from the Paris Tech Studio to their fast-growing private capital and restructuring practices,” Cécile said.

Cécile serves on the Tax Committee at France Invest, a French association for VC and PE investments in growth companies and served as co-chair of Latham’s Women Enriching Business Committee in the Paris office.
