Orrick has been recognized as one of the most prolific law firms in 2022 full year league tables. Our global Energy and Infrastructure teams rank among the top 3 firms for both renewables and infrastructure globally in inspiratia’s league tables. We also rank #1 for Transport North America and #1 for PPP USA and #3 for Social Infrastructure North America in Inframation’s league tables. The publications recognize law firms for their advisory services in infrastructure and renewable sector deals across the globe.

Inspiratia noted our sizeable total disclosable cumulative deal volume of US$20.9 billion for renewables, highlighting our work on Ultium Cell’s $2.5 billion loan from the U.S. Department of Energy to support the development of three separate battery cell manufacturing facilities in Ohio, Tennessee and Michigan. They also pointed to our representation of Superior Plus in its acquisition of Certarus, a leading North American low-carbon energy solutions provider, in a deal valued at CAD$1.05 billion. For infrastructure, we ranked second in total transaction volume with US$34.83 billion and were recognized for our representation of Arclight Capital Partners in its sale of Enstor Gas, the nation’s largest privately owned gas storage company.

Inspiratia’s report quotes Blake Winburne, Global Head of Orrick’s Energy & Infrastructure Group, as stating, “As much of the world transitions towards greater sustainability and security, fundamentally changing the way we produce, consume and transport energy, and governments embark on programs to modernize infrastructure, reorient supply chains and encourage economic growth, the Orrick team is proud to partner with our clients globally to navigate this evolving landscape for investment."
