Orrick advised MyPower Corp. on the full acquisition of Solstice Power Technologies, a service provider specializing in customer management for community solar development—enabling MyPower Corp.’s further expansion within the U.S. community solar market while delivering additional clean energy offerings to a broad range of customers.

MyPower Corp. will leverage Solstice's community-driven brand focused on sustainability and energy equity to support the growth of an inclusive U.S. clean energy economy that will empower more households to access local clean energy. Despite distributed solar energy and storage developments’ rapid ascension in the U.S. power generation sector, 77% of Americans are unable to participate in rooftop solar due to financial or technical barriers. Community solar bridges the gap with no upfront costs and monthly savings on electricity bills. MyPower brings robust corporate resources to support nationwide expansion for Solstice and deliver additional value to communities through its commercial clean energy offerings.

MyPower Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd., a global energy infrastructure and investment leader.

The cross-practice Orrick team was led by Kristin Seeger and included Jason D. Flaherty, Scott Cockerham, Craig Falls, Julia Balas, Jennifer Criss, Walter Alarkon, Matthew Coleman, Tamir Jonathan Debbi and Eric Newman.
