Orrick Adds Renewables Authority Karthik Kumar in Singapore

  • Karthik Kumar, a project development, acquisition and finance advisor with deep experience in renewable energy, joins Orrick.
  • Highly regarded in the market for his transactional and regulatory advice, Karthik is rated Band 1 by Chambers Asia Pacific 2022.
  • Karthik joins Orrick partner Jon Thursby, who helped the firm launch in Singapore in 2021, and will work closely with Orrick’s globally top 5 ranked E&I team based in Japan, Europe and the United States.
  • He is Orrick’s seventh Energy & Infrastructure partner hire this year.

Karthik has two decades of experience acting for developers, sponsors, borrowers and financial institutions on high-profile renewable energy and infrastructure projects in the Asia-Pacific region. He brings a strong focus on the renewable energy sector, with extensive experience in solar, onshore and offshore wind, biomass and waste-to-energy projects and experience on projects in India, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand and China, among other countries. He joins Orrick from Jones Day.
