Orrick announced today that Max Cantor has joined the firm as a partner in our Technology Companies Group in New York. Max’s addition builds on the arrival of 11 corporate transactions partners to Orrick this year and the 5th lateral hire in New York.
“Max is a rising star in the emerging tech and VC ecosystem in New York. We are delighted to have him join our team, which is experiencing client demand on the East Coast and globally like nothing in recent memory,” said Matthew Gemello, global leader of Orrick’s Corporate practice. “We’re incredibly bullish on our portfolio of companies, and the strength of our growing New York practice, and look forward to integrating Max to collaborate with our team. We’ve never been stronger on the eastern corridor.”
Max assists startup founders, high-growth technology companies, venture capital and private equity funds, and other key players in the startup ecosystem on a variety of corporate transactions. He brings extensive experience in venture capital and growth equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance and boardroom matters. Prior to Orrick, Max was a partner with Fox Rothschild.
“I’m thrilled to join Orrick. The firm has the premier global tech platform, and I’m deeply impressed by its collaborative and innovative approach to client service, which will be a tremendous asset to my clients as they grow and scale,” said Max.
Orrick advises over 3,000 technology clients and 50 unicorns. The firm helped clients raise over $25 billion in 2020, with over 920 deals completed in 45+ countries across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Max’s arrival follows the additions of several partners to Orrick’s New York office this year, including capital markets advisors Alice Hsu from Akin Gump, Marsha Mogilevich from Kirkland, and Mark Mushkin from Cravath, and IP licensing & tech transactions advisor Daniel Forester from Davis Polk.
